Abstract

Dengue virus (DENV) disease is the most common arbovirus disease in the world. The incidence rate is increasing yearly, bringing a significant economic burden and medical pressure to the world. Dengue viral infection induces a series of clinical symptoms, among which dengue hemorrhagic fever and dengue shock syndrome are the most serious, and vascular leakage is the main pathological feature. We conclude that DENV induces vascular leakage by disrupting the vascular structures-endothelial cells, tight junction proteins and glycocalyx. This review aims to explores the mechanism of vascular leakage caused by DENV, and provide new ideas and insights for its prevention and treatment research.
