Abstract

INTRODUCTION: During the COVID-19 epidemic, the workload of medical workers increased sharply. In this study, we investigated the quality of life and psychological state of medical staff in two nephrology departments. METHODS: We used the HADS, VDAS, and the SF-36 Quality of Life Scale to survey medical staff in the nephrology departments in Wuhan and Nanchang and compared the data of the two districts. RESULTS: The overall health assessment scores and sleep time of medical staff in Wuhan are lower than those in Nanchang. The anxiety, depression, and dream anxiety scores of doctors and nurses in the quarantine area were significantly higher than those in the non-quarantine area (p < 0.05). DISCUSSIONS: The quality of life and sleep time of nephrology medical staff in the Wuhan quarantine area are significantly worse than equivalent professionals working in non-quarantine areas, and staff in Wuhan is more likely to be anxious and depressed.
